Working together
Team approach
I pride myself on being a pleasure to work with- or at least I try to
be! While we are working together I like to feel that we are in the
same team, all trying to get you to where you want to be. I will be
very mindful of the fact you have a busy day job, and will respect
your time, both during the project and in thinking about how the
plans we make will impact your organisation long term.
All projects start with a process of information gathering, to ensure I understand your current situation. I will meet with you, and members of your team, before we review and agree our plan for working together. Projects can vary in size, complexity, and timescale, and I don’t have a ‘one size fits all’ approach. I am flexible and a clear communicator, and so the way in which we work together will be centred around the needs of you and your organisation.
I come from your world
Having worked in the non-profit membership world for most of my career, I know first hand what it’s like to be faced with the ongoing operational challenges associated with fighting for your cause in the interests of your members, but with limited resource.
You can rely on the fact I have an inbuilt empathy and
understanding of your position, and I will do my best to help give
you a strategic step up to achieve those harder to reach goals.
Focused on ROI
All my work is focused on delivering maximum and measurable return on investment. I will work with you to agree the areas you want to focus on and the most meaningful way you can measure return.
Strategic
I generally get more joy from words and people than spreadsheets, but I will always start any project with a reliable evidence base before committing to a strategic direction. This may be through market research, or at the very least reviewing internal performance data and gaining a variety of perspectives from those inside and outside the organisation. I spend a significant part of the project learning before attempting to impart advice. The work we do together will involve exploring a range of strategic areas to position you on the right track for long term healthy growth.

I help clients to increase growth and engagement within their membership communities. I offer a range of consulting support, including analysis, membership scheme development and evaluation, member benefit review, recruitment/engagement strategies, and managing strategic change.
Corporate partnerships
My passion for corporate partnerships lies in the potential for collaboration to drive real world change. I love bringing people from different worlds together to unlock opportunities and maximise the benefit on both sides.

Senior leadership involves constant plate-spinning and re-prioritisation- it's often very hard to step back and embark on a strategic change project. I’d love to work alongside you to provide that extra lens so you can take your organisation and its cause to the next level.
Marketing strategy & support
I provide strategic marketing support to organisations seeking sustainable growth, and I do so with a deep understanding of the challenges you face. As a CIM-qualified professional, I specialise in creating marketing strategies that are tailored to your unique needs and goals.
Testimonials

Her membership expertise, background knowledge of a complex sector and understanding of the challenges facing small charities meant that she quickly got up-to-speed, supporting a review of our UK and international membership offering and helping us to clarify our strategy for both improving retention and acquisition rates, and developing our membership model.
Our whole senior team have been very impressed with both her approach and outputs, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to other organisations, or to work with her again in the future.
Vicki Betton, Director of Global Impact, International Cat Care

We recently worked with Laura to explore the feasibility and potential return from launching a membership scheme and corporate partnerships programme in order to generate new sources of revenue. From the outset, Laura was professional, insightful, and collaborative. Laura worked quickly to learn about the situation, delivering a comprehensive, clear, and data-driven business case that outlined strategic opportunities with detailed projections. The quality and clarity of the analysis, alongside Laura's thoughtful recommendations, have provided us with insight to inform our next steps.
Martine Baker, Director of Business Development, Berkshire LEP

I approached Laura to work with me on a project for Little Oxplorers and she instantly understood the brief, captured my vision and end goal and was able to work backwards from that. She identified so many opportunities that I hadn’t considered: partnerships that fit perfectly with my brand values and consumer insights which showed gaps (and more opportunities) in my growth strategy. Working with Laura has bought into sharp focus where I want to be and I now have a roadmap which shows me how to get there. She is also a hugely positive and motivating voice and somebody who gets things done at speed!
I look forward to working with Laura again in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her services."
Keira, owner of Little Oxplorers
